A little while ago, we started asking MailChimp users to create a security question for their accounts. That way, if we ever detected anything “weird,” (like a login from a suspicious IP), or if we needed to verify something from you, we could ask that secret question to make sure you are who you claim to be.
We just added an option that allows you to force that security question whenever we detect a login to your account from a different IP address than you normally log in from:
To activate this feature, log in to MailChimp, and go to your Password & Security settings. Check the “when location changes” box under “Security Question.” This is totally optional, but we strongly encourage all users to activate it for your list security. For even more security, you might want to use this in conjunction with our new SMS Security Alerts.

Great idea as I very rarely access MC from anywhere else so if someone does I want to know.
Any extra security that we can get is a good thing. Thanks for being proactive on this one.
Thanks for the additional security! Question: If I regularly log in from several different machines, will I have to answer the security question each time I switch, or will it remember more than 1 IP?
Yes. Every time you correctly answer your security question, we’ll “remember” that new location for you.
Great additional security protection. One less worry.
maybe there should be an option to ‘Remember this device/location’ incase you are logging in from a place where you dont usually use or someone else’s PC and you want to be checked everytime….
Top banana! I can’t believe my bank doesn’t have this setup
