One of the features we recently implemented in MailChimp V5 is an unsubscribe survey so that your users can tell you why they no longer want to receive your emails.
While this feature is a step in the right direction, it clearly doesn’t help our international users to only have the form available in English. That’s why we’re asking for your help with translations in the 30+ languages we support elsewhere in the app.
Just head over to the form we’ve set up, select the language you can help translate, and enter the appropriate text for the six multiple choice selections. We’ll be compiling and comparing these for the next couple months and will keep you posted when they go live in the app. Also: If you’re willing to and have time, we’d love your help translating the text elements of our new polling feature so that we can offer that in multiple languages as well. You’ll see these fields at the bottom of the unsubscribe survey translation form.
Sorry, but in my opinion, the unsubscribe survey design (answer set) is flawed.
The logic of responses overlap heavily, which just dilutes the survey results and adds confusion for unsubsribers.
For example:
“I no longer want to receive these emails” because “I never signed up”. “The emails are inappropriate” and therefore “The emails are spam”. “The emails are spam” because “I never signed up” and so on…
Of course, this could be acceptable if the only reason for this survey is to actually collect and process oped-ended text entries, and the other answer options are just fillers. Or if the checkboxes (multiple answers) could be used instead of single answer selector.
Therefore, we use our own survey system with own answer set which suits for our business and our type of audience. However, I provided my translation for Mailchimp system both for unsubscribe and polling. Unfortunately, as we’re not using the “polling” feature, I wasn’t able to fully understand the difference between “feedback” and “voting” in “polling” messages (“thanks for feedback” and “thanks for voting”).
Do you have enough data yet from the English version of the survey to know how well it works? It would be helpful to know something about average response rates, and how willing recipients are to share their real reasons for unsubscribing.
There are two types of written Chinese. Simplified Chinese for mainland China, and Traditional Chinese for Taiwan and SE Asia, you need both.
Is French (eu) translated yet?
And how long does it take from the moment I send my translation until you implement it online?
Thanks
Already provide the translated form in Traditional Chinese.
