After we launched our first Twitter integration, someone invented oauth, which is a nicer way to to make the connection between MailChimp and Twitter (instead of entering your twitter usernames and passwords into the MailChimp app). So we’ve switched to that method. You’ll notice a new twitter button on the Campaign Setup page:
One nice after-effect of this change is that after making the Twitter connection, we can automatically tweet your campaign archive link for you from scheduled campaigns or A/B split campaigns.
Speaking of twitter, ever wish you could track how many times your email campaign tweets have been re-tweeted?

Hi,
I have different lists/campaigns for different websites and would like to tweet these on different twitter accounts. how do I do this? When I connect my twitter account to mailchimp it connects all my campaigns to that one account….
I have a similar problem. I have two twitter accounts and when I go to link my mailchimp account with twitter, it connects to the wrong one. How do I switch it?
Melissa, Try logging out of Twitter, then logging into the Twitter account that you want to link with MailChimp. Then, quickly link it. That should do the trick.
This is great but can you please tell me if there will ever be a way to include #hashtags with the automated tweets?
I’m fairly new to MailChimp (LOVE IT!) and really new (as of today) to Twitter. I send MailChimp campaigns to different segments of my list but only want to send one set of particular emails (the newsletters) to Twitter. How do I prevent the rest of my campaigns from tweeting on Twitter? (Board of Director information, for instance, does not need to go to Twitter.)
Thanks!
Andrea
Hi Andrea, welcome to MailChimp. I think the safest thing to do is leave that auto-tweet feature off, but then after sending a campaign, go to your campaigns list, and click the “social share” link. It’s slightly more manual, but much, much safer in your situation.
Thanks, Ben!
