One behind-the-scenes thing we added to MailChimp v4.1 is interface memory. It’s subtle, but it makes a big impact on the way you work, because MailChimp remembers where you left off.
Let’s say you’re working on the Campaigns screen, under the “drafts” smart folder. Then you click around to work in the Lists section, or your Account settings. When you come back to the Campaigns screen, we’ll remember to have the drafts folder pulled up for you.
Interface memory is in other areas of MailChimp too, and we plan to keep expanding it further. Should save you a little bit of clicking around.
Totally saw this, sine I put all my campaign reports into folders, and would go to a list and come back I used to have to reselect the folder that I was looking at. Totally appreciate it.. now I have to find a new exercise to help lose the calories I was burning with that extra click
Thanks for noticing, and glad it is helpful. Here’s how I would work off those extra calories – walk to the kitchen an get another cookie
I noticed it. It works great.
thank you!
How will this work if a user has two concurrent tabs open?
LOL Derick. I have no idea what MailChimp would remember if you have 2 tabs open. Seems like there could be some sort of dilemma about which tab to remember. I’m sure there’s a technical answer, but I’m going to say that MailChimp will automatically open a 3rd tab, so that it can obtain a majority vote, and gain consensus on what to remember.
If you are talking about more than one browser tab – each will have its own session id so the preference can be accurately tracked.
I wish there were more services out there like MailChimp. And as a web developer (lite), you guys blow my mind!
