One of the merge tag upgrades we’ve made in MailChimp v6.2 is the ability to include Google’s +1 button in your email campaigns.
42 New Email Templates
Posted by Fabio on
Last month, Aarron showed off 33 new templates that were introduced in the v6.1 release. This month, for v6.2, I’m showing off an additional 42 new templates that are being added to the pre-designed section of the app’s email template library.

Here’s what we’re adding to the library:
- RSS-to-email: 9
- Fitness: 6
- Technology (iPhone & Android Showcase): 12
- Restaurant: 15

In MailChimp v6.2, we’ve added a couple new socialish/sharing merge tags to the arsenal. The first allows you to share a link to your email campaign on your Tumblr blog.
Signup Form Embed Code Redux
Posted by Jason on
If you’re already a MailChimp user, you’ve probably seen and customized the signup forms for your lists. If you’ve ever ventured from there into the “For Your Website” section, you may have encountered this intimidating interface:

Has it already been 4 weeks since our last upgrade? Yep. That means it’s time to announce some new enhancements then.
v6.2 is going live today, and — you should know the drill by now — the new features should be done propagating to all user accounts by end of day tomorrow. We’ll be blogging about them in more detail soon, but here’s a list of some of the new features:
- Google+ sharing available on email archive toolbars, plus new Google+ buttons can be added to your campaigns [documentation]
- Tumblr share button can be added to your campaigns [documentation]
- OAuth2 support is now available for all you API and app developers [important information for devs]
- 42 beautiful new templates added, AND remember those premium designer templates we launched a while back? They’re free now.
- Embedded signup form code has been slimmed down, optimized, and less “JavaScripty.”
