Blaine, from the MailChimp customer support team, is on a cross country vacation. He’s traveling with friends and family by motorcycle.
What’s really cool about this is he’s posting updates, photos, and video to his Tumblr blog, and he’s connected MailChimp to his Tumblr’s RSS feed in order to send an RSS-to-email newsletter. All Blaine has to do is post to Tumblr, and the email newsletters go out automagically every day. He never even has to log in to MailChimp.
If you’re a photographer (or someone who’s always on the go), and you want an easy way to stay in touch with your subscribers, give this setup a try. You could even use Tumblr’s iPhone app to point-and-shoot your pictures and upload to Tumblr. No extra camera, laptop or browser even necessary.
If you’re interested in this sort of thing, you can sign up for Blaine’s updates here.
BTW, to give you an idea of what an awesome nerd Blaine is, he’s been using iPhone’s FaceTime to video chat with friends here at the office from the Grand Canyon. Where’d he get the wifi? He tethered it to his Verizon Droid:

Awesome trip!
I get such a fantastic kick out of the fact that he tethered his AT&T phone to his Verizon phone to get service!!
Me too! Oh, the irony.
