Users often tell us that one of the biggest obstacles to sending their first email campaign is building their template. With v3.4, we’ve made it even easier to get started using MailChimp by adding an Automagic Eaze Whiz feature! Here’s the play-by-play with screen shots.
Step 1. After you’ve created your list and are ready to design your first template, the first step is to create a new campaign. This will work for any of our campaign types, but for beginners, just select “regular ol’ campaign.”
Step 2. Select the list you’d like to send your campaign to.
Remember when you set up your list and entered information like your name, phone number and the website address where people can opt-int? Eaze Whiz pulls the information for your template from your website, finding things like your logo, color palette and even some sample content.
Step 3. Simply select “new email” and choose the layout you want to use.
AND THEN, SHAZAAAM!
Note: MailChimp will pull in things like your logo as well as colors from your CSS or HTML file. While not perfect, this should give you an excellent starting point for customizing your emails. And at this point your template is still fully customizable– you can even change the basic layout (one column, two column, etc). If you want to start over from scratch, you can do that too. Just click the “no likey” link at the top of the page and we’ll replace your Eaze Whiz template with the plain ol’ starter design.

Cool – I’ve been sending email to a data base for years and had to pay a virtual assistant to design every html email. Now with MailChimp, I can have fun making my own. I love MailChimp!
I don’t see this function. Is it not available to trial members?
Hi Joanne,
The screenshots were kind of confusing, so I just updated them. This feature is integrated and available to all users.
After you select the list you’d like to send your email to, make sure you select “new email” in step #3. After you choose your layout, just click “next” and watch the magic happen.
Thank you.

So I was playing around, learning Mail Chimp, and just to see my other options, I said “no likey” to the auto-downloaded stuff from my website, even though it was really pretty good. Now I can’t find a way to change my mind… and say, likey likey likey! Is there an “undo” or “reset” or something, anything? It was great to have the logo and color palette…. I repent!
Hi lois, I did exactly the same! Did you find a way to “undo” or “reset” so my emails are auto-formatted? thanks!
Hmm, that’s an interesting situation. We didn’t really anticipate a no-likey-then-likey-back scenario.
Have you tried just creating a brand new template? Basically, start over?
I have tried starting over, and while I get the colors from my website in the palette, I never got the same experience that I got the first time. It’s okay–I ended up creating a new banner that’s related to but different from the website, but what it did automatically was really pretty good!
